Recovery has become a buzzword associated with social media hacks promising instant results.
Cold plunges. Ultra hot saunas. Red lights. Oxygen chambers.
But these tools work best when used strategically, alongside other treatments such as physiotherapy, and with clinical knowledge and expertise.
They also work best when there’s a supportive team around you.
Our new rehab service
For these reasons, The Wellness Hub’s founder, Emma James, has joined forces with professional rugby player Zoe Harrison, who is now leading our Clinical Sports Rehabilitation service.

Emma and Zoe are on a mission to bring elite-level recovery to the high street, so everyone can benefit.
We’re offering these enhanced recovery services:
Beyond bandwagons
But this partnership goes far beyond jumping on the latest bandwagon.
Both women deeply understand what it’s like to rebuild after adversity.
In Zoe’s case it was after an ACL tear that saw her dreams to play in the Six Nations Rugby Tournament shattered and, instead, staring down the tunnel of a long, difficult rehabilitation.
In Emma’s case, it was rebuilding her entire life after various challenges from business collapse to divorce, while also navigating fertility challenges, single motherhood and grief.
They both know what it’s like to feel like you’ve lost everything overnight and need to take small, tentative steps to regain stability and a sense of self.
What have they learnt about recovery?
That when you combine clinical expertise and evidence-based interventions with genuine care and a sense of community the results are game-changing.
It’s this approach that has led them being able to rebuild their bodies, and lives, stronger and more confidently than ever before.
And now, through the Wellness Hub’s recovery services, everyone walking through our doors can, too.

The role of cutting edge tech
The treatments we offer were instrumental to Zoe’s own injury recovery.
“I wish I had known about them when I was younger,” she says. “I only found out about them after I damaged my ACL, the biggest injury of my career, and I came to The Wellness Hub for treatment. The treatment you get here is genuinely better than what you get as an elite athlete.”
Zoe not only went on to recover to her pre-injury performance level quicker than expected, but she came back stronger than ever; her injured knee tested 1% stronger than her non-injured knee after rehabilitation.
“I now understand that these treatments can prevent injury because they reduce fatigue and inflammation,” she says.
Reactive to proactive
Emma and Zoe, through this new recovery and rehabilitation service at The Wellness Hub, want to encourage clients to shift their mindset from reactive to proactive.
Rather than waiting for injury, pain or fatigue, they want to help clients manage their bodies better so they can:
- Prevent their bodies reaching a fatigued injury-prone state
- Improve their tissue resilience
- Support longterm performance and health
- Reduce recurrent injury and pain patterns
So what do these new treatments actually do?
Cryotherapy
Supports inflammation management and recovery, especially following intense training sessions.
Red Light Therapy
Emerging research suggests red and near-infrared light can support tissue repair, reduce delayed-onset muscle soreness (DOMS), and assist cellular energy production.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
By increasing oxygen delivery to tissues, hyperbaric therapy may support healing in certain musculoskeletal and soft tissue injuries.
These recovery tools are widely used in elite sports.
Now, The Wellness Hub is bringing them to the everyday athlete.
Whether you’re a Hyrox enthusiast, a recreational runner frustrated with persistent pain or someone who feels ‘stuck’ in traditional rehab that isn’t working for you, these treatments will help.
The tools work best when:
- They are used at the right time
- They are guided by clinical judgment
Zoe and Emma feel strongly that you don’t need to be an athlete to recover like one.
And athlete-level recovery should be accessible to all, so everyone can lead healthier lives and go after their goals – whether that be competing in an Iron Man after a jam packed week at work or simply being mobile enough to run around with the grandkids.
This is possible, with the treatment that works for you, and:
- Strategy
- Consistency
- Clinical guidance
